Kevin Rudd Apology To The Stolen Generation

The apologies are important because they show the realization of the mistakes people made and meaning they will never do these bad things again. It makes people relieved and able to live normally without any fear that affects their lives.

In this situation, repeating the word, "we say sorry", and the speaker made an impact in the apology. The repetition showed that they were really sorry to the stolen generation. He was also very calm and using the low voice to show that he was serious. His face was lowered, I think it was because he felt really guilty about the colonization. I could feel that he was apologizing to the people whose generation was stolen  by the colonizers, through his actions. Also, the speaker is a prime minister, the most powerful politician, which shows the apology from the entire country. This apology acknowledges that the white people had done something wrong. All the white people had to say sorry since the head was apologizing.

  1. The way that you read his body language and use of voice was interesting. I would have liked to have seen you interact with the other sources on the class blog as well. You need to select parts (quotes..) to use in order to demonstrate that you have critically read and analyzed the information. You need to write in more depth. Please look at a few other blogs to get an idea of what people are writing.
